River Safari

Crayfish, water striders, dragonflies, tadpoles, and so many more fascinating creatures spend at least part of their lives in water. We will trek to the edge of a local river or stream (sometimes a pond or marsh) to discover these remarkable creatures. Using nets, we’ll carefully catch many of them and take a close-up look at their amazing water adaptations. Don’t forget to bring rubber boots!

The amazingly armoured crayfish lives in our local streams and rivers.
You never know what you’ll catch when you dip a net into the water’s edge. It’s fun, active and always surprising!
